Supporting Potential & Community Enterprise
We believe every person has the right to access services and support to reach their potential. The Good Space provides opportunities for young people with additional needs to explore and develop their potential. It will also provide an additional income stream so that we can be flexible and responsive when a referral or a request falls outside the criteria of a particular project or service.
The Good Space
We opened a Social Enterprise Love your Space charity shop to create an additional stream of unrestricted income. When we put the word out for volunteers, we found that those who came to us to volunteer were dealing with mental health and or learning disabilities. Over the years, Love your SPACE has become a special environment where people with barriers come and stay. Here they find satisfaction in the work they do, they find friendships and they are contributing to their community.
As a result of the organic development of Love You Space as a place where people feel nurtured and valued, and as part of our ongoing commitment to support families we are opening a new social enterprise at 7 Marcus Street. The Good Space will operate as a Day Opportunities Facility for people with learning disabilities or mental health issues in the Newry and Mourne.
The Good Space
Our new Day Opportunities Social Enterprise, The Good Space, has its own brand and identity. Our intention is twofold; to provide a welcoming and constructive environment for people with barriers to thrive as well as provide an addition source of unrestrictive income for SPACE. One of the skill-development programmes is a candle making project. For more information about our Training for Life programmes for young people with additional needs please call 028 3025 2288.
